Setting Up Your Satellite TV Dish

With some effort and patience, you’ll be able to start receiving quality digital entertainment.

Here is a quick step-by-step guide for satellite TV installation:

  1. Decide which satellite you will be pointing to
  2. Find out where the satellite is located:

  3. Mount the dish onto a mass (that is attached to your home, to the ground, etc.)
  4. Use a compass to find the rough location of the satellite
  5. Set up your signal detector or satellite receiver to alert you on the signal strength
  6. Move the dish to the estimated location (using a the sun azimuth, azimuth with a compass, and the elevation)
  7. You will need to move it up and down (elevation) and right to left (azimuth). - sometimes moving it in a circular motion can help
  8. When you here or see the signal coming in, slow down until you reach the highest signal strength
  9. One achieved, tighten any nuts, bolts, or screws
