DirecTV Phase II

DirecTV Phase III

With the Phase III, there are 3 LNB’s connected to 1 dish. This will also allow you to receive HD signals from the 110° satellite.

Receiving The Latest MPEG-4 HD Signals

With the evolution of technology, DirecTV will be broadcasting MPEG-4 signals. MPEG is a type of video compression. With MPEG-4, DirecTV will be able to offer more channels in their line up.

If you have a MPEG-4 receiver (ie. MPEG4 H20 HDTV receiver) or are planning to get one, you should get a DirecTV AT9 Ku/KA Dish that contains the newer LNB block. It will allow you to receive channels on 99°,101°,103°,110°, and 119° satellites. With all these satellites that you’ll be able to receive, you’ll have the capability to tremendously expand the amount of channels.
