More and more people are preferring satellite TV nowadays. The allure of clear, almost uninterrupted, high resolution images is too much for consumers to resist. DISH Network and DirectTV are the two major satellite companies in the U.S. that continue to compete with cable television in subscription and customer base.

DISH Network is owned and operated by EchoStar Communications Corp. The DISH System is able to receive digital signals from ten orbiting communications and television satellites.

These satellites hover at around 22,000 miles above the Earth and are stationed at designated areas which allows them to supply satellite signals to a wide area of home based antennas. Signals are beamed to these satellites where they are digitized and converted into either standard or high definition resolution formats which are then transmitted to antennas and receivers.

DISH Network Satellite TV offers a range of 155 to 250 channels depending on the package availed. Regular programming include a variety of movie channels, news, sports channels, interactive channels, children’s channels, adult channels, music and local channels and a wide selection of multi-cultural international channels. DISH Network also include in their standard package free digital video recording (DVR) systems where you can record up to 100 hours of your favorite programs.

DISH Network is the second largest provider of satellite TV in the United States. Since its founding in 1996, DISH Network subscribers have grown to more than 12 million. DISH Network doesn’t sell their services directly to consumers. They have a pool of authorized retailers which do the selling for them. The VMC Satellite Group is one.

VMC is the number one online retailer of DISH Network. The company only entertains online ordering. VMC offers a lot of freebies and promos. VMC offers free installation of a DISH Network System. They also offer great rebates. Plus you can sign up with them as an affiliate.

The company is claiming to have more than 200,000 affiliates worldwide. Under their affiliate program, a website or affiliate marketer will be paid for every free satellite DISH system installation they give away.

AllSat Inc. is another DISH Network retailer. AllSat is a direct retailer and not an affiliate of a retailer as some news reports have indicated. The company has been a retailer since the start of DISH Network way back in 1996 and is currently the longest running online retailer of DISH.

AllSat began its career as a small store selling and installing Primestar in 1995. They became aware of the internet and took advantage of the opportunity going online in 1997. The company prides itself for surviving online for more than ten years, independently and debt free.

DISH Pronto is another DISH Network retailer. It pretty much offers the same high quality satellite TV as AllSat and VMC. DISHPronto offers the same free installation and also offers free shipping of DISH Network equipment, free DVR and HDTV upgrades and lots of free gifts.

It seems that these three are the main authorized retailers of DISH. Though they may have slight differences in satellite TV packages and freebies, the fact that these three passed the strict standards of DISH Network retailer means they provide excellent service.

There were some bad reviews and letters of unsatisfied customers that came out about VMC, but these remain to be unsubstantiated. We can assume that since DISH Network has not revoked the license of VMC to sell their satellite network system, these bad claims about the latter could be just a ruse by competition to discredit VMC and DISH Network as well.
