Sirius Satellite Radio Subscription

Satellite radio subscriptions are now widely available in the market through either XM Radio or Sirius. After buying the equipment online or from a retailer, the customer will just pay an activation fee for it to work.

Sirius charges $5 while XM radio charges $9.99. People who do activate this via telephone will be paying $15 for any of the satellite radio providers.

The services of both companies are very similar. There will be some differences in the programs, which change frequently because of promotions.

For instance, XM radio subscribers will have to sign a contract that is good for the next two to five years. This means the person will have to pay $7.48 monthly which is a savings of almost $1.50.

Sirius Radio

If the individual wants some of the special channels such as Playboy, an additional $2.99 will be billed to the customer. The person is allowed to get 4 additional radios for only $6.99 each month.

Entrepreneurs who want this played in the store or the restaurant will have to pay $24.99 monthly given that the public is listening in to the radio.

Sirius subscription costs $12.95 a month with a one or two year commitment from the customer. There is even the lifetime promotional offer that is for $499.99.

The person is allowed to add three additional radios for $6.99 monthly, which is less than what XM radio is offering at the same price. Commercial establishments will also be paying $24.99 to get satellite feed.

What do customers get for signing up with Sirius? People will get 65 channels of commercial free music plus other channels covering sports such as the NBA, NFL and NASCAR. Those who love talk shows will hear personalities like Howard Stern.

There will be no disruptions or static making everything hear crystal clear as though this is being heard on an MP3 format. This allows the person to hear everything from the lyrics of the songs to the words that are said by the host.

When people decide to subscribe to Sirius, the individual can choose from a wide array of equipment options. There are for example more than 15 plug and play options. For only $99.95, this allows the user to use it at home or in the car.

The subscription fees for the activation and usage of its products are very reasonable. Given that Sirius uses three commercial satellites and has its corporate headquarters in New York that is home to disk jockeys and recording artists, customers will always get the latest in terms of music and programming wherever the individual is.

Some analysts believe that the rates could be much cheaper when customers buy a new car since manufacturers will have the equipment installed for models being launched in 2007.

Satellite radio is still in its infancy stage. This means there is still a lot of potential given that Sirius is only heard in the United States, Alaska, Canada and Mexico. There are still places in Asia and in Europe that can still be tapped to capture a larger market.

So if people are sick and tired of listening to commercials on the radio and only want to hear music or a talk show host live on air commercial free, then the individual should subscribe to Sirius satellite radio.

Sirius has 65 channels that feature sports, news and other programs aside from music. This includes exclusive coverage of special events such as the NFL. XM radio on the other hand has NASCAR and Fox news. It has 68 channels which is 3 more than what the other is offering to the consumer.

XM radio on the other hand uses the Delphi XM Roady Receiver. This will cost individual somewhere between $30 to $400 but those who choose to get a monthly subscription will only have to pay $12.95 per month.

Both the models being offered by Sirius and XM radio are easy to install. The person will just have to pay a small fee as a service charge when enlisting the help of a customer representative when this is being done.

Customers can buy the unit in a store or order this online. It is not only ordinary individuals who are very interested in this product since there are also other models for commercial use that are being broadcasted in public access systems of hotels and other retail establishments
